FOREWORD
I can't believe I've had this book on the back burner for twelve years ... enough already!  When I went back to stand-up in the early nineties I thought this "I Hate" shtick would be my hook ... think again.  I thought I would just include this little book in my big autobiography ... well, the big autobiography isn't written, yet.  Now that my kids are teenagers, I decided it was time to finish at least this chapter.  When I read this book it makes me realize how fast our lives rush by us.  As a family it's mind-blowing to think of all the different haircuts and hair colors we've been through, the clothes we loved, bought, hated and discards, the shared meals, the dirty dishes and the laundry.  We've gone from junk eaters to eating healthy.  My kids have gone from toddlers who clung to and needed me, to "Mom, please don't come over and say hi to me and my friends when you see us at the mall."  Life is too short to sit around thinking of all the things to hate.  So I've done it for you.

Now don't take this book too seriously.  Your hates can change.  When I was a kid, I used to hate September because summer was over.  Now I love it ... close the pools, open the schools and get kids out of my hair!  It's the same with snow.  When I was a kid, I loved it.  Now that I'm older, it just messes up my plans.

So kick back, turn on the answering machine, turn off the TV (if you can find the remote) and let me share the things I love to hate!
